When did you join Christie & Co?
Where were you when you accepted your role at Christie & Co?
In my kitchen, doing the dishes.
What was your first job?
Delivering newspapers at the age of 12 to supplement my pocket money. My first job after my apprenticeship was as receptionist at NH Hirschberg/Heidelberg.
In a couple of sentences, can you tell us a bit about your job at Christie & Co?
A little bit of office organisation, with a pinch of travel & event management. Two hands full of HR and accounting, plus a nuance of marketing and various other administrative tasks to ensure a happy and smoothly running business. Team entertainment and assistance to our MD round up my extensive but fun job. All this combined with the best industry in the world, the hospitality industry.
What’s your favourite thing about Christie & Co?
The internationality and work together on projects. Plus before COVID-19 the opportunity to visit colleagues in our international offices from time to time - hopefully very soon again. Our great team!! Still being connected to the hotel industry.
If you had to pick a favourite project that you’ve worked on at Christie & Co so far, what would it be?
The Christie & Co “Future Group”.
What’s been the biggest challenge of your career so far?
Leaving my comfort zone in 2015, getting out of the hotel industry and starting at Christie & Co.
What’s been a highlight of your career so far?
There is a whole list by now, I cannot narrow it down. However, there is one thing that all jobs have in common. I have met many great colleagues in each business I worked for, with whom I have built up wonderful friendships over time to this day.
How has the industry changed since you started at Christie & Co?
I love the hotel industry! But it is unfortunate that the industry seems to be focused only on the short/medium term, without long-term added value for the individual companies and society. More and more unskilled, interchangeable employees are being used in hospitality without adequate training. Among other reasons, this is due to the profitability of hotels in a highly competitive market. However, in order to re-establish a sustainable focus on the industry and the guest, and to target the appropriate talents for the hotel industry, fundamental sustainable changes are needed in the industry. Especially in terms of salary and working conditions.
Who in your industry do you feel most inspired by?
I am inspired by all the former colleagues who withstand the tough industry and are still there with passion & love for the industry & being a host.
Tell us a bit about your life outside work – what are your hobbies?
travelling, family, friends, cinema, concerts, reading
What’s your hometown? Where do you live now?
Define home. I am living in Berlin since 2012.
Where’s the best place you’ve been on holiday?
Less vacation, more adventure of a live time: 6 months backpacking through New Zealand and Australia.
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Complaining about things but not doing anything about it. Being lied to.
If you could live and work in any city, where would you go?
New York City, Melbourne, New Zealand
What would be your desert island meal?
Anything that will keep for a while under extreme heat conditions. But if there is a refrigerator there- New York Cheesecake.
What’s your favourite film?
Undecided: The Shawshank Redemption, Double Jeopardy

Nothing’s ever really dead, if you look at it right.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
Travelling through Canada extensively.
What is your biggest fear?
That my biggest fear is coming true.
