Full speed ahead: Christie & Co strengthens German team

Frankfurt/Munich. Three new faces have reinforced Christie & Co’s German team. Mattes Thäsler and Leopold von Veltheim will expand the existing transaction teams in Frankfurt and Munich respectively, while also in Munich, Ricarda Glas will join the advisory and valuations team as a Junior Consultant.


Lukas Hochedlinger, Managing Director Central & Northern Europe at Christie & Co comments, “We are currently reaping the benefits of a very active hotel market in Germany, and this is having a highly positive effect on our pipeline. The trend towards B and C destinations is also expanding our core markets. For us to continue to guarantee our customers across-the-board personal support, now is the ideal time to add motivated specialists to our team. I am especially proud that we have achieved this by attracting hand-picked experts from within the sector.”  

Mattes Thäsler and Leopold von Veltheim will be responsible for establishing relationships with hotel owners and potential buyers as well as overseeing transaction processes and finding operators.

Before joining Christie & Co, Mr. Thäsler gained expertise of the sector with various five-star luxury hotel groups including Mandarin Oriental Hotels & Resorts, IHG Group, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts and Althoff Collection in countries such as Switzerland and the United Kingdom. He holds a degree in tourism management from Cornell University in New York.

Mr. von Veltheim began his career in tourism at the well-known 5-star Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich; he also managed several restaurants. He gained experience of the real estate sector as an estate agent with the property company Planet Home Group GmbH, which is active throughout Germany.

Overseen by, Kay Strobl, Head of Advisory & Valuation Services Germany, Ricarda Glas will strengthen the advisory and valuations team as a Junior Consultant at our Munich office. Ms. Glas graduated from the International University of Applied Sciences in Bad Honnef (IUBH) with a dual Bachelor of Science degree in International Hospitality Management. She launched her career by completing a management trainee programme with Meliá Hotels International; thereafter she gained several years’ experience in the German and Austrian hotel sectors, working for international hotel chains such as A-ROSA, Hyatt and Steigenberger.
